Face Your Own Moment Of Truth

Gang Starr - Moment Of Truth

What up everyone. I woke up feelin real positive today. I want to feel like this everyday. I'm sorry if this post offends....well actually I'm not. To all you nay sayin, negativistic, ugly, finger pointing, dont know the meaning of forgivness, look on the bad side, can't crack a smile to save your life type kats out there, go hug somebody and shut up.

Gang Starr: Hip Hop Legends, Icons, Pioneers, and much much more. Listen to these words. This is more than just raps.

"I ain't no saint, therefore I cannot dispute
That everyone must meet their moment of truth"

"Actions have reactions, don't be quick to judge
You may not know the harships people don't speak of
It's best to step back, and observe with couth
For we all must meet our moment of truth"

"Now I'm contemplatin in my bedroom pacin
Dark clouds over my head, my heart's racin
Suicide? Nah, I'm not a foolish guy
Don't even feel like drinking, or even gettin high
Cause all that's gonna do really, is accelerate
the anxieties that I wish I could alleviate"

"While others struggle to juggle, tricky metaphots
I explore more, to expose the core
A lot of MC's, act stupid to me
And we have yet to see, if they can match our longevity"

"You should know the truth
And the truth shall set you free
"

Basslines, You Gotta Love Basslines

Thelma Houston - If You Feel It

What up once again. Sorry if there is no real "point" to this post. I just enjoyed this song and wanted to guys to "smell" it too. At first glance it's just standard funky disco, but the main thing about this song I want to point out to you is the bassline. The foundation for anything that dares try and call itself funky. Tons of tracks use similar basslines to form the track around, but thats what makes this music so infectious. Listen to the intro & the break down part in the middle of the track @ 2.33. I swear someone must have farted because it's just funky in here.

For those of us who shamefully (or proudly) listen to no name German Disco House rip off tracks, you may recognize this one from Disco Diamonds Vol.2 - Track 4 (Being With You Is Ecstasy). If you have no idea what I am talking about, dont worry about it. What??? Yeah, I listen to a few of them, I wont front. Dont look at me like that....

Also, I hope you enjoy the title artwork. I was enjoying one of Thelma Houston's covers from 1981 titled (I've Got the Music in Me) which this track does not appear on, but just looks so amazing. I just had to edit it for this post. Enjoy the eye candy. Enjoy the track. For large view click here .

Classictrax: The Return Of The Jedi

Motorbass - Bad Vibes

Hello my people. I hope you have been enjoying your summer, as it is now over. Time for school, cold weather, and American football. Look for Classictrax to make a return later this year like are name was Luke Sky Walk.

I just had to post this for you guys "Much love to Infinite Jim" "I see you Dafunkad". You guys may or may not have liked the Pansoul Version of this Motorbass Track, but the original is pure, pure, pure, pure, darn near virginal, french house. IMHO, that is. But don't you dare take my word for it. Judge for yourself.

Feel the vibes, they be bad.

As a treat, check this really, really dusty classic track from 1936. Check out the cut that Motorbass used right at the begining. Let it transport back to a time before I bet any of us where born. Stop acting like you don't love her. She's one bad black women.

Billie Holiday - I Cover the Waterfront

Say a quick prayer for those on the Golf Coast of the USA.

Much love,
